Launch of the Japan Frailty Prevention Service Promotion Association
On May 23, 2025, the Japan Frailty Prevention Service Promotion Association (located in Tokyo, represented by Kunihiko Hisaki) was officially registered. The inaugural general meeting was held on June 25, marking the commencement of its activities.
This organization is dedicated to promoting the prevention of frailty and establishing services aimed at achieving a healthy life span of 100 years. Collaborating effectively with government bodies, it will undertake initiatives across the nation to spread awareness and develop preventive measures against frailty.
Background of the Establishment
For several years, the University of Tokyo's Research Institute for Aging Society has been spearheading practical research and commercialization in frailty prevention through industry-academia collaboration. The formation of this association is a result of collaborative efforts among ten companies aiming to achieve sustainable social implementation as part of open innovation addressing aging issues.
Moving forward, the association will actively engage with the recently formed “Frailty Prevention Promotion Conference,” contributing to the industrial sector’s role in promoting frailty prevention initiatives.
