Fibocom Unveils Innovative MGB Series GNSS Solutions at IMC India 2026 for IoT Applications
Fibocom Unveils MGB Series GNSS Solutions at IMC India 2026
In an impressive showcase at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026, Fibocom introduced its latest MGB Series GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) portfolio. Comprising three cutting-edge models—MGB180, MGB280, and MGB390—this advanced series addresses the growing demand for precise IoT positioning solutions.
Diverse Offerings for Various Needs
The MGB Series encompasses a spectrum of options, catering to different priorities such as cost-efficiency, energy consumption, positioning accuracy, and satellite compatibility. The models range from single-frequency solutions to advanced dual-frequency and RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) enabled systems, marking a significant leap in positioning technology for IoT devices.
MGB180 and MGB280: The Mainstream Solutions
The MGB180 and MGB280 models focus on mainstream single-frequency GNSS requirements, supporting major satellite systems including GPS, BDS, GLONASS, Galileo, and QZSS. These devices come equipped with AGNSS (Assisted GNSS) technology and boast 96 tracking channels for enhanced performance. The MGB180 is particularly designed for cost-sensitive tracking devices, merging compact integration with low power operational capabilities.
On the other hand, the MGB280 strikes a balance between positioning performance and power efficiency, featuring strengths in quick startup, reacquisition, and robust cellular coexistence. These advantages make it ideal for applications in asset tracking, fleet management, and vehicle telematics—areas that increasingly rely on dependable GPS technology.
MGB390: High-Accuracy Dual-Frequency Positioning
For users with more stringent positioning demands, Fibocom offers the MGB390 model, which is a dual-frequency GNSS solution equipped with 180 tracking channels. The MGB390-AR variant supports RTK high-accuracy positioning, boasting a remarkable specified horizontal accuracy of just 1 cm + 1 ppm. Notably, the MGB390-A supports NavIC (IRNSS), India's regional navigation satellite system, emphasizing its suitability for the local market.
Kony Li, General Manager of Fibocom's MTC Business Unit, highlighted the significance of reliable technology partnerships in India's burgeoning IoT ecosystem. "As India's IoT ecosystem continues to grow, customers are looking for reliable technology partners that can support their journey from product development to large-scale deployment," Li stated. He expressed confidence that the MGB Series provides versatile GNSS solutions tailored to varying requirements of cost, power consumption, and positioning performance, assisting local customers in expediting their IoT device development and commercialization.
Mass Production and Collaboration
Currently, all three models of the MGB Series—MGB180, MGB280, and MGB390—are in mass production. Fibocom is actively collaborating with both customers and ecosystem partners in India with the aim of accelerating product integration and commercialization across location-enabled IoT devices. This strategic approach reinforces Fibocom's commitment to fostering innovation within the industry.
