BLUETTI Hosts Industry Experts at IFA 2026 to Shape the Future of Smart Energy
BLUETTI and Industry Leaders Collaborate at IFA 2026
At the IFA 2026 event, BLUETTI brought together prominent figures from BSW-Solar, Shelly Group, Flatpeak, and pv magazine to discuss the evolving landscape of household energy. The panel’s theme, "Energy. Value. Future. — From Power Supply to a Smarter Way of Living," centered on the integration of solar energy, energy storage, smart home devices, real-time data, and artificial intelligence into collective smart energy systems.
From Consumers to Active Energy Participants
The panel highlighted how innovations such as balcony solar systems, residential energy storage, and smart home technologies empower families to generate, store, and manage energy more effectively at the point of consumption. Key points emphasized by the speakers included the necessity for open integration standards, a reliable data-sharing framework, and market-friendly regulations to expedite the adoption of these technologies.
Thomas Seltmann, from BSW-Solar, mentioned, "The energy transition is increasingly intertwined with daily life, as households become active participants in generating, storing, and managing their energy. For large-scale utilization of this potential, we need easy-to-integrate solutions supported by an open and reliable energy ecosystem. Furthermore, clear and practical security standards are essential to safeguard consumers and protect providers."
Mircho Mirev, Integration Director at Shelly Group, added, "The next step for smart energy isn’t just about connecting more devices; it’s about ensuring they operate harmoniously together. Open integrations, reliable signal exchanges, and system resilience are critical for crafting a truly intelligent energy ecosystem."
Tom Hibbard, co-founder and sales director at Flatpeak, pointed out, "A home battery is only as intelligent as the price signal it responds to. Connecting BLUETTI's systems to real-time pricing data allows them to charge when energy is cheaper and cleaner, and discharge when it’s not, all without any hassle for the homeowner."
The discussion also explored how real-time data and AI could enhance home energy management by making it more predictive and automated. Tristan Rayner, an expert energy journalist from pv magazine and ESS News, noted, "A household that installs solar panels along with storage systems, even independent storage, experiences a transformation in understanding their energy consumption, savings opportunities, and the energy landscape. The industry’s opportunity lies in delivering real value."
This engaging discussion reflected BLUETTI's vision of the balcony solar system as the foundation for a connected and scalable smart home energy ecosystem.
