Spectrum TV Select Customers Gain Free Access to AMC+
In a significant move to enhance viewer experience, Spectrum and AMC Networks have partnered to offer AMC+, the ad-supported streaming service, free of charge to Spectrum TV Select customers. Announced on March 31, 2025, this collaboration aims to provide subscribers with more value and exceptional content without any additional fees.
AMC+ is well-known for its vast library of engaging content, which features acclaimed original series such as "Dark Winds" and "Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches," as well as new seasons from the popular "The Walking Dead" universe. While AMC+ typically retails for $6.99 per month, customers of Spectrum TV Select can now enjoy the service without any additional costs, an enticing offer for television enthusiasts.
Tom Montemagno, Executive Vice President of Programming Acquisition for Spectrum, emphasized the importance of delivering flexibility and options to subscribers. He stated, "Offering AMC+ as part of Spectrum TV Select is part of our overall customer-first philosophy to provide customers with flexibility and choice to watch what they want, when and on what platform at the most competitive price." This partnership not only simplifies the viewing experience for customers but also adds substantial value, amounting to around $80 in retail app value, which includes various other streaming services available through the Xumo Stream Box.
AMC+, which sources content from various acclaimed networks such as BBC America, IFC, and SundanceTV, provides access to original series on the same day they air, along with exclusive films and shows that appeal to diverse audiences. Viewers can also explore offerings from service partners like Shudder and Sundance Now, enhancing their content options.
Kim Kelleher, Chief Commercial Officer of AMC Networks, echoed similar sentiments, explaining that the collaboration with Spectrum aligns with their strategy of reaching viewers on their own terms. Kelleher said, "Core to our strategy is working with partners to make our popular and critically acclaimed content available to viewers wherever and however they want to consume it. This collaboration with Spectrum is a perfect example of how to meet viewers where they are with the shows and films they love." With this arrangement, AMC Networks strives to expand the reach of its premium stories and characters to a wider audience.
In addition, subscribers who had previously opted for the Ad-Free AMC+ plan, which usually costs $9.99 per month, will see a $7 discount on their upcoming bills. This discount reflects the cost of the newly included Ad-Supported AMC+ within the Spectrum TV Select service. For those not familiar, the Xumo Stream Box allows streaming of a range of services including Max, Disney+, ESPN+, Paramount+, Peacock, ViX, and Tennis Channel, with further services to be added later this year.

The addition of AMC+ comes at a time when consumers are seeking more ways to access high-quality entertainment options without the strain of increasing subscription costs. As the streaming landscape continues to evolve, initiatives like these by Spectrum and AMC networks highlight the importance of customer satisfaction and engagement in ensuring that viewers receive comprehensive access to their favorite shows and movies at competitive prices. Together, this partnership signifies a forward-thinking approach to content distribution in a rapidly changing media environment.
