Event Rules

The basics of the game follow similar guidelines to traditional 'kick-the-can'. The 'Seeker' will be selected by the Japan Hide and Seek Association. Participants have 30 seconds to find hiding spots before the Seeker wakes up. The goal is to return safely to the mat without being caught, while the Seeker attempts to identify the color of the hidden players' bibs.

What is the Hide and Seek World Championship?

The hide-and-seek world championship, known as the Hide and Seek World Championship, is a thrilling event held semi-annually. The last championship took place in the mountainous region in Northern Italy, where approximately 80 teams from 40 countries competed intensely. Italy ranked first and France second, with Japan placed ninth.

About Shakotan Town

The name 'Shakotan' derives from the Ainu language, meaning 'summer village'. Known for its heavy snowfall, the region has harsh winters. However, through outdoor recreational activities, there is a desire to transform Shakotan into a hub of fun and adventure, despite the extreme conditions.
