MEIKO Career Partners Selected for Hiroshima's Foreign Workforce Japanese Learning Support Program

MEIKO Career Partners Takes a Step Forward in Supporting Foreign Workers in Hiroshima

In a significant move to address the challenges of an aging population and labor shortages in Japan, MEIKO Career Partners—a subsidiary of MEIKO Network Japan—has been officially chosen by Hiroshima Prefecture to undertake the "Japanese Language Learning Support Program for Foreign Workers" for the fiscal year 2028. This initiative is particularly timely as many companies face urgent staffing needs amid a dwindling domestic workforce, making the effective integration of foreign workers a pressing concern.

The program aims to facilitate a smoother and more organized acceptance of foreign talent through various measures. It recognizes the difficulties that local businesses encounter in providing adequate Japanese language education and support systems for their foreign workforce. By harnessing an e-learning platform, the program will provide a comprehensive learning environment along with coaching support to companies, thereby reducing their burden while enhancing the Japanese language proficiency of foreign workers and promoting their successful integration into the local community.

Overview of the Program

As the implementation of the new "Development Employment System" and transition to the Specified Skilled Workers visa category approaches in 2029, companies employing foreign workers are increasingly urged to provide robust Japanese language education. This program will directly support 100 foreign worker sponsor companies in Hiroshima, offering more than 300 free access accounts to the e-learning platform "Japany," specifically designed for those holding residence statuses such as "Specified Skills" or "Technical Intern Training."

In a progressive format, the program includes a series of three coaching workshops for businesses to empower them to establish self-sustained Japanese language learning structures. This initiative prioritizes a seamless continuation of employment for foreign workers in Hiroshima.

4. Ease of Management for Employers
