Awareness Campaign for Sensitivity
On July 25, we recognize Sensitivity Awareness Day, a time dedicated to raising awareness about the often-overlooked phenomenon of dental sensitivity. This year, Haleon Japan has decided to launch the "#SkippingSensitivity" graduation campaign to encourage individuals suffering from sensitivity to take action.
The Launch of the Campaign
During the campaign, which runs from July 10 to July 25, participants will have a chance to win Shumitect products and exclusive QUO cards. The campaign aims to enlighten young adults, especially those aged 20 to 30, who have reported experiencing sensitivity yet often neglect proper care practices. Notably, around 60% of this age group has reported sensitivity issues, and an astonishing 80% of those have failed to seek appropriate treatment.
Understanding Sensitivity
To better tackle this issue, Haleon conducted a survey focusing on the experiences surrounding dental sensitivity. The findings reveal a significant trend: younger generations are increasingly facing sensitivity, leading to a wider conversation about dental health. Sensitivity occurs when exposed dentin tubules transmit external stimuli to the dental nerve, resulting in brief, sharp pain. This condition affects approximately one in three adults, highlighting the need for awareness and education.
