TIGGO7 CSH Passes Rigorous Battery Scratch Test in Mexico with Flying Colors

On July 29, 2025, the flagship model of Chery, the TIGGO7 CSH, successfully completed a severe battery scratch test in Mexico, further demonstrating its exceptional design and engineered safety features. The test took place in front of Isaca Mosquedy Montelongo, a public notary, industry experts, and representatives from leading media outlets. During the test, the vehicle struck a spherical obstacle measuring 242 mm in height at a speed of 30 km/h, mimicking situations that simulate potential hazards facing vehicles on mountainous roads.

The results were impressive, showcasing the battery protection system's resilience. Post-collision inspections revealed only minor surface scratches on the battery casing, and there were no signs of electrolyte leakage, fire, explosion, or smoke, indicating that the battery pack retained its structural integrity. Minimal deformation was observed at the bottom of the unit, while all high-voltage connections remained fully operational, underscoring the robustness of Chery's 'Guardian Battery' system.

The battery type used in the test is an LFP (lithium iron phosphate) design known for its stable chemical bases. It is shielded by a chassis built from high-strength steel with a tensile strength of 780 MPa. This armor absorbs impact energy effectively and is complemented by a unique design inspired by chain mail, enhancing resistance to physical damage. Furthermore, the high-voltage disconnect technology activates in less than 10 milliseconds, significantly reducing any risk of short circuits. The enclosure is also rated IP68 for waterproofing, ensuring reliable operation in extreme road conditions.

This battery scratch test in Mexico represents the third phase of Chery's global Super Hybrid (CSH) route, aimed at confirming vehicle safety standards. Prior challenges included rigorous tests conducted in China, featuring a spiral rollover test and a frontal crash test involving two vehicles. Additional tests included an intense 53-hour immersion in saltwater conducted in Indonesia. Chery remains dedicated to validating its vehicles across six extreme global conditions, involving extreme temperature fluctuations, arid and humid environments, high-speed conditions, and challenging terrains. This commitment positions Chery as the first Chinese manufacturer to complete such thorough safety testing outside its home country.

Chery's commitment to safety is highlighted through its prominent exhibitions at Dubai International Airport, the busiest travel hub in the world. There, the brand proudly promotes its core philosophy of 'Safety for Families,' leveraging industry-leading battery protection technology to accelerate its global expansion in the hybrid vehicle market. The company realizes its vision of 'Let Everyone Enjoy Five-Star Protection,' bringing enhanced security to customers worldwide. As the landscape of electric and hybrid vehicles continues to evolve, the TIGGO7 CSH sets a benchmark for safety and innovation in the automotive industry.
