Collaboration for a Sustainable Future
In a significant move towards advancing the circular economy,
Refineverse Group and
Cleantex Japan have teamed up to focus on the resource cycles related to rubber products. Based in Tokyo, Refineverse Group has been actively engaged in sustainability efforts for over 20 years, aiming to solve waste challenges faced by various industries. This partnership signifies a fusion of expertise in recycling technologies and product development, ultimately aimed at enhancing the environmental value of new products.
One of the first outputs of this collaboration is the development of
reusable protective sheets, which have already been integrated into the renovation projects executed by
Daikyo Anabuki Real Estate. These sheets mark a significant step towards waste reduction and minimizing environmental impact, transitioning from traditional disposable protective materials to a more sustainable option.
Background of the Collaboration
Refineverse Group has a long-standing commitment to the circular economy, having pioneered technologies such as
horizontal circulation recycling. This innovation allows for the regeneration of materials like used carpet tiles into more sustainable products. Meanwhile, Cleantex Japan has a solid global footprint in the manufacture and sale of commercial mats and is actively involved in developing environmentally friendly products while seeking to cut down on CO2 emissions.
This new initiative sees both companies leveraging their strengths to harness recycling potential and enhance the value of their products in terms of environmental impact. By joining forces, they aim to contribute to the realization of a resource-circulating society, which is increasingly essential as urban challenges intensify.
The Reusable Protective Sheets Project
The reusable protective sheets are a product of collaboration among Refineverse Group, Cleantex Japan, and Daikyo Anabuki Real Estate. They are delivered on-site by
Iota Co., Ltd., which specializes in cleaning and maintenance services. After the renovation process, the used sheets will be collected by Iota for cleaning, allowing them to be reused on different job sites.
Traditionally, protective sheets used in condominium renovations were disposable, leading to a significant amount of industrial waste. In response, since 2021, Refineverse Group has been promoting these reusable sheets made from recycled rubber, sourced from tile carpets unearthed from various office settings. Although initial iterations were limited in durability, subsequent revisions led to improvements that now allow for up to 50 uses. Moreover, the sheets have been enhanced to provide better safety, particularly on rainy days.
Future Prospects
Moving forward, the collaboration between Refineverse Group and Cleantex Japan aims to pioneer recycling technologies for complex rubber products and further product development. The combined expertise from both sides is set to propel various initiatives geared towards a more sustainable resource economy, addressing the pressing need for effective waste management in today’s society.
