Tachikawa Gender Equality Forum: Keynote by Erika Yoshida

The Tachikawa Gender Equality Promotion Division is committed to fostering a society where all individuals can live respectfully and equally. To this end, the division has been hosting the Tachikawa Gender Equality Forum, dedicated to discussing and promoting gender equality and mutual respect among all genders.

An Inspiring Speaker: Erika Yoshida

In its 18th edition, the forum is proud to welcome Erika Yoshida, a celebrated screenwriter and novelist known for her exceptional work in television and literature. Yoshida is particularly recognized for her contributions to the NHK morning drama series, and her unique storytelling skills span genres, including live-action and animation. Her keynote address will be centered around the theme: “What? Turning Awareness into Opportunity - Building a Future Society of Respect and Support.” This theme resonates deeply with the goals of the forum, encouraging participants to reflect on their roles in creating an inclusive community.

Those interested in attending the lecture must apply by May 29, 2024. Applications can be submitted electronically or in person, but please note that phone applications are not accepted. Moreover, applicants needing childcare or sign language interpretation can indicate this at the time of application.

The event will accommodate a maximum of 170 participants, selected by a draw. The results will be announced on June 6, 2024, on the city’s homepage and at the gallery on the first floor of the Women’s Comprehensive Center.
