JAL Launches DREAM MILES PASS Project Phase 3
On October 21, 2025, Japan Airlines (JAL) will kick off the third phase of its encouraging initiative, the "DREAM MILES PASS" project. This exciting program, inspired by sports icon Shohei Ohtani, aims to support not only individuals but also teams and groups pursuing their aspirations. The expansion encourages participants to challenge themselves alongside their companions as they chase their dreams.
The DREAM MILES PASS project has been a collaboration between JAL and members of the JAL Mileage Bank (JMB), focusing on providing support for travel as a means to realize various dreams. Since its inception in September 2024, the initiative has recorded a staggering total distance of dreams, amounting to approximately 59,852,470 kilometers—equivalent to around 1,500 circuits around the Earth. Participants from the second phase are already using their awarded tickets to embark on their journeys toward achieving their goals.
The second phase saw a broadened scope of applicants, extending eligibility to adults who harbor dreams as vibrant as those of the youth. Inspired by the feedback from previous participants, this third phase allows for group applications, thus aiming to facilitate the realization of even more dreams.
This new phase coincides with the anniversary of Shohei Ohtani declaring his challenge to join Major League Baseball while studying at Hanamaki Higashi High School, making it a meaningful launch date. Through the previous two phases, the DREAM MILES PASS project has garnered warmth and support from numerous JMB members, backing many young dreamers and challengers by enabling their travels and aspirations. It is a source of genuine joy to witness new endeavors sparked by this project as each individual's dream takes a step forward.
By the end of this third phase, JAL anticipates completing support for Shohei Ohtani's travel distance tallying up to an incredible 892,440 kilometers, marking his impressive journey from a high school baseball player to a leading MLB star. JAL remains committed to supporting all individuals pursuing their dreams and promoting their journeys forward.
