In a landmark agreement, MUFG Bank, Ltd., a leading global financial institution, has committed to providing $500 million in funding to Fermi America™, a subsidiary of Fermi Inc. (Nasdaq & LSE: FRMI), to accelerate the development of the Project Matador campus in Texas. This investment marks a crucial step towards the establishment of an innovative 11GW energy infrastructure that aims to deliver reliable and long-lasting power at a significant scale.
Strategic Partnership and Project Goals
Fermi America, part of the Texas Tech University System collaboration, intends to utilize the funds primarily to procure three Siemens Energy F-class gas turbines, which are vital components for the energy project. These industrial-grade turbines are renowned for their efficiency and reliability in power generation and will play a pivotal role in enabling Fermi America to achieve its initial goal of delivering 2.3GW of electric power in the upcoming years.
