FOX Channel 7 and ABC Channel 18 Are Relocating to New State-of-the-Art Facility in Miramar

FOX Channel 7 and ABC Channel 18 Relocating to Miramar

On December 8, 2025, a significant milestone was reached as Sunbeam Properties & Development, the brain behind the Miramar Park of Commerce, and Sunbeam Television Corporation, which runs FOX affiliate Channel 7 and ABC affiliate Channel 18, celebrated a tilt-up ceremony. This event marks the construction of their new broadcast and production facility, covering an impressive 70,108 square feet in Miramar, Florida.

The ceremony took place at the southeast corner of Red Road and Miramar Parkway, where local officials, community members, and special guests witnessed the inaugural lifting of the facility's concrete walls. Attendees were invited to sign a commemorative plaque that will be installed in the new building, symbolizing their active involvement in this project.

Andy Ansin, President and CEO of both Sunbeam Television and Sunbeam Properties, expressed his excitement, stating that this project represents more than just the construction of a TV studio. He emphasized that it is an investment in the future of local news, promising strengthened community ties and enhanced news coverage. “Miramar provides the infrastructure and accessibility we need to innovate and continue delivering timely news to our viewers,” he said.

The new facility is situated on an expansive eight-acre site and aims to incorporate cutting-edge technology to support various innovative broadcast needs. Designed to withstand severe weather events, this building comes equipped with redundant systems for water, electricity, and air conditioning, ensuring operational reliability even under challenging conditions. The station anticipates being fully operational by January 2027.

Earlier this year, Sunbeam Television Corporation entered into an affiliation agreement with ABC, resulting in a simulcast of their programming across both FOX 7 and ABC 18. This move is anticipated to widen the audience base and reinforce Sunbeam's reputation as a premier provider of news, sports, and entertainment content in South Florida.

In a statement, James Ansin, Co-President and General Manager of Sunbeam Television, discussed the implications of their expanded operations in Miramar. He highlighted the facility's role in allowing teams to work more efficiently and improve overall service levels to viewers across both channels, thus raising standards for local news.

Miller Construction has been appointed as the general contractor for the project, while REES Architects are responsible for the architectural design of the state-of-the-art facility. Once completed, operations will transition from the current location in North Bay Village, consolidating activities under one roof for both channels.

The Miramar Park of Commerce has become a bustling hub of business and employment, currently hosting over 160 national and international companies while employing more than 15,000 individuals. It spans more than five million square feet and is recognized as the largest locally owned and managed business park in South Florida.

In addition to the broadcasting facility, Sunbeam Properties is actively contributing to further infrastructure enhancements and the development of Miramar Cove, a 125-acre mixed-use area that integrates residences, retail, entertainment, and green spaces. These developments are integral to establishing Miramar as a beacon for business, innovation, and community growth.
