Clear Channel Outdoor and The King Center Unite to Honor Dr. King Legacy
Clear Channel Outdoor Teams with The King Center
As communities gear up for Martin Luther King Jr. Day 2026, Clear Channel Outdoor (CCO) has announced a partnership with The King Center to honor the enduring legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his wife, Coretta Scott King. This collaboration aims to reinforce the importance of their teachings and impacts in today’s society.
Launching a National Initiative
Set to coincide with the celebrations, the partnership will kick off with a national digital billboard campaign. The campaign is designed to embody the principles that Dr. King championed: public service, justice for all, and a commitment to peace and nonviolence. CCO will also take part in a variety of events organized by The King Center throughout the 2026 King Holiday Observance, culminating in observances on January 19.
In the words of Dr. Bernice A. King, CEO of The King Center, "Now more than ever, our society needs influence from the words and leadership of my father and mother." This sentiment encapsulates the vision behind the collaboration, which seeks to spread a love-centered message in communities nationwide.
Activations and Celebrations
Following the initial launch, future phases of the initiative will focus on significant events like Black History Month 2026. During this period, CCO plans to utilize The King Center's extensive historical archives, showcasing powerful moments from Dr. King’s life and highlighting his contributions to the Civil Rights Movement through dynamic digital displays.
Notably, February 2026 marks the 100th anniversary of Black History Month in the United States. The collaboration represents a chance to connect newer generations with the rich history of civil rights and social justice, supported by never-before-seen visuals of Dr. King’s life.
To further community engagement, Clear Channel Outdoor will work on additional initiatives alongside The King Center, promoting educational training programs inspired by Dr. King’s teachings. Dan Levi, EVP and CMO of Clear Channel Outdoor, articulates the goal succinctly: "By partnering with The King Center, we hope to inspire reflection, learning, and connection in the communities where we live, work, and serve."
