Chery's TIGGO7 CSH Passes Battery Scratch Resistance Test in Mexico

Chery's TIGGO7 CSH Triumphs in Rigorous Battery Test

On July 29, 2025, Chery Automobile's flagship model, the TIGGO7 CSH, made headlines following its successful completion of a battery scratch resistance test conducted in Mexico. This rigorous evaluation included an impactful approach at a speed of 30 km/h into a barrier measuring 242 mm in height. The test was overseen by Mr. Isaca Mosqueda Montelongo, a representative from a notary office, along with industry experts and media representatives, reflecting the model's performance amid real-world hazardous scenarios.

Outstanding Battery Resilience

During the test, the TIGGO7 CSH showcased impressive protective capabilities, with only minor surface scratches visible on the battery cover, and no signs of electrolyte leakage, fire, explosion, or smoke. Its battery module exhibited remarkable structural integrity, experiencing minimal deformation at its base, while all high-voltage connectors remained fully operational. This evaluation confirms the reliability of Chery's “Guardian Battery” system.

The TIGGO7 CSH is equipped with a lithium iron phosphate battery that possesses a fundamentally stable chemical structure, enhanced by a high-strength steel chassis with a tensile strength of 780 MPa. This combination, along with the design inspired by wire mesh, effectively dissipates impact forces. Moreover, the high-voltage disconnection technology, with a rapid response time of less than 10 milliseconds, significantly reduces short-circuit risks, complemented by an IP68 dust and water resistance certification.

A Global Commitment to Safety

The Mexican scratch resistance test marked the third phase of Chery's global safety challenge for the Super Hybrid (CSH) initiative, following stringent evaluations in China, which included rollover tests and collision assessments between two vehicles. Chery also conducted an extended 53-hour saltwater immersion test in Indonesia, further solidifying its commitment to testing vehicles under six extreme global conditions: severe cold, extreme heat, aridity, intense humidity, high speed, and challenging terrain.

Chery positions itself as the first Chinese automotive manufacturer to engage in extensive extreme safety verification abroad. This commitment is reinforced at the international airport in Dubai, one of the world's busiest travel hubs, showcasing Chery’s safety philosophy: “Safety for Families.” The company aims to expedite its global expansion into the hybrid vehicle market while making its vision of providing “five-star protection for everyone” a tangible reality for customers worldwide.

Conclusion

The successful outcome of the TIGGO7 CSH’s battery scratch resistance test not only attests to the vehicle's durability and safety features but also highlights Chery's dedication to establishing itself as a leader in automotive safety innovation. As Chery continues to enhance its presence in the hybrid market, it reassures its customers of reliable safety through advanced technology and rigorous testing processes.
