Haier Launches Horizon Refrigerator in Vietnam, Setting a New Standard for Freshness and Domestic Appliance Design

On June 3, 2026, Haier officially launched its Horizon Refrigerator series in Vietnam, marking a significant entry into the Southeast Asian market. This new line of refrigerators embodies more than just advanced technology; it aims to redefine freshness and design standards for home appliances in the region.

The Horizon Collection was unveiled on May 29, initially introduced at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, UK, before making its way across Europe. With its debut in Vietnam, Haier emphasizes its commitment to providing premium food preservation solutions tailored to local consumer needs. The launch aligns with the growing demand for versatile and sophisticated refrigeration solutions in hot and humid climates, where maintaining food freshness is paramount.

To cater to these conditions, the Horizon Refrigerator incorporates innovative technologies that promise to keep fruits and vegetables fresh for up to 7 days and maintain the original flavor of fresh meat for as long as 10 days. This is made possible through the integration of Haier's first global humidity control technology (HCS) and magnetically controlled freshness features, which have been recognized with a gold medal at the International Invention Exhibition in Geneva and certified by VDE for preserving over 95% of protein in meats.

Notably, the Horizon Refrigerator boasts a substantial capacity of 716 liters, with adjustable shelves and deep door compartments capable of accommodating larger items like 1.5-liter bottles. Select models also feature AI Vision technology, which automatically identifies and records food types and quantities, simplifying food management for users.

At the same time, Haier presented its Space Fit series of home appliances, showcasing a refrigerator equipped with original AI technology that ensures a temperature fluctuation of only 1°C throughout. This feature guarantees that after thawing, steaks retain their tenderness, vibrant color, and juiciness without compromising on nutrients.

Strategically, Vietnam is viewed as a critical hub for Haier's premium expansion throughout the region, accounting for over half of the Southeast Asian luxury refrigerator market. With remarkable sales growth, Haier's refrigerator sales doubled in January 2026 compared to the previous month and soared over 60% year on year, solidifying its market leadership in Vietnam. In retail establishments, customers can directly experience Haier's conservation technology through comparative demonstrations, and the Space Fit series has surpassed competitors' sales figures in record time.

Haier aims to enhance its product offerings continually to meet the rising demand for food preservation solutions with its new flagship Horizon series. Following its brand entry into Vietnam in 2025, aligned with strategic partnerships with prominent local appliance retailers, Haier's AQUA washing machines have captured significant market share within the country.

As of April 2026, Haier led the overall brand share in Southeast Asia, with impressive growth exceeding 40% across Vietnam, Malaysia, and other markets. Post-launch in Vietnam, the Horizon series plans to expand into Indonesia and Thailand, further solidifying Haier's reputation for premium products across the region.

This rollout signifies a strategic shift for Haier in Southeast Asia, transitioning from a quantity-driven leader to a premium brand. The company is committed to deepening local innovations and enhancing brand modernization to maintain its market-leading position. Through ongoing cutting-edge innovations and tailored experiences, Haier aspires to deliver superior preservation solutions while achieving aesthetic kitchen designs and sustainable growth for its partners.
