NativState Launches Innovative Forest Carbon Credit Project in Arkansas

NativState's Groundbreaking Carbon Credit Initiative

NativState, a Conway, Arkansas-based forest carbon developer, has made significant strides in sustainable forestry with the successful verification and sale of its first aggregated carbon credits. Released on January 14, 2025, this initiative features over 400,000 verified carbon credits from the ACR 848 Bottomland Forests of Louisiana Plains project, which aggregates roughly 20,000 acres of carefully managed forestland in northeastern Louisiana and western Mississippi.

This project marks an important milestone for NativState as it represents the company's inaugural verified project within Louisiana and Mississippi. Over the 40-year life span of the project, NativState anticipates making 2,000,000 credits available. The credits have been independently verified to ensure they comply with the standards set by the ACR Improved Forest Management (IFM) methodology, providing assurance of their quality and integrity.

A Sustainable Future for Small Landowners

NativState’s vision is to empower small landowners by providing access to the global Voluntary Carbon Market. Many private forest landowners often lack the resources or opportunity to participate in carbon credit sales; however, NativState’s unique aggregation model offers these small stakeholders a gateway for generating income through sustainable forest management practices.

Stuart Allen, NativState's founder and CEO, expressed gratitude for the understanding and commitment of the 19 families involved in this project.
