Geely Auto's Global Expansion Strategy Showcased at 2026 Conference in Hangzhou
Geely Auto's Conference 2026: A Focus on Global Expansion
Geely Auto recently held its International Business Partner Conference for 2026 from April 21 to 23 in Hangzhou, China, gathering over 1,000 representatives from dealerships across more than 100 countries. This annual conference served as a platform to discuss Geely's global strategy of 'One Geely,' aimed at expanding the company’s footprint worldwide in collaboration with its partners.
The event showcased a comprehensive overview of Geely’s strategic roadmap by its leadership team. They emphasized the vital coordination of research and development systems to ensure future-oriented technological planning and innovation. Key insights were shared by three automotive research institutes within Geely—Lynk & Co and Zeekr—with presentations on their flagship models and upcoming product plans for international markets. This integrated, collaborative approach is pivotal in strengthening the 'One Geely' framework, propelling high-quality global growth.
Geely’s ambitions are underscored by robust sales performances, with Geely Holding surpassing four million units in total annual sales for the first time in 2025, positioning itself among the top ten automakers worldwide with impressive growth rates. Specifically, Geely Auto alone delivered 3.025 million vehicles, marking a remarkable 39% year-on-year increase. Looking ahead, Geely Holding has set an audacious goal for 2030 under the 'One Geely' initiative, aiming to achieve global sales exceeding 6.5 million units, which includes commercial vehicles, thereby securing a top-five rank among global automotive manufacturers by volume. In addition to this, they aspire for around 75% of their sales to be from new energy vehicles and over one-third of their total volume coming from international markets.
As 2026 dawned, Geely Auto Group continued its swift growth trajectory, recording sales of 709,400 units in the first quarter alone. Furthermore, exports exceeded 200,000 units—up by an astonishing 126% year-over-year. In a rapidly restructuring global automotive landscape, Jerry Gan, CEO of Geely Auto, asserted that "Geely continually strengthens its foundations and refines its core competencies. By integrating the best from the global automotive industry with our own strengths, we're building a world-class automotive ecosystem."
Driven by a philosophy of win-win collaboration, Geely is deepening its partnerships with international entities while establishing a localized global operation system. In line with their 2030 strategy, vice president Alex Nan elaborated on a clear roadmap for their global operational development. He advocated for a multi-energy approach, encompassing both internal combustion engine vehicles and electric vehicles while focusing on creating sustainable competitive advantages rooted in user value.
To date, Geely has established over 1,800 sales and service points across more than 100 countries and regions, catering to more than 20 million users worldwide. The conference was not just a strategic exchange; it also allowed global partners to get a firsthand look at Geely's comprehensive capabilities behind 'One Geely,' through tours of the Geely Global Safety Center, the Zeekr intelligent factory, and immersive demonstrations of advanced intelligent driving technologies. By showcasing its strengths in safety, manufacturing, and smart mobility, Geely aims to build confidence among its partners and propel the next chapter of global growth.
