Dr. John de Csepel is entering his second year as Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for Olympus Corporation, bringing a wealth of experience in the medical technology (MedTech) sector. A notable result from a survey revealed that approximately 90% of physicians taking part in these educational initiatives reported increased confidence in managing gastroenterology, urology, and pulmonary procedures. During the AdvaMed 2024 conference in Toronto, de Csepel shared his optimism about the medtech industry's shifting focus towards patient access, noting that Olympus is actively working to achieve regulatory approvals and reimbursement processes to broaden access to its technologies across various healthcare settings, whether inpatient or outpatient.

De Csepel's influence as a CMO extends beyond strategy; he's also responsible for ensuring Olympus's products are backed by solid evidence, furthering their safety and effectiveness through high-quality research and public speaking efforts. His dual role allows him to serve as a voice for patients and healthcare providers. "Working as a surgeon, I dealt with one patient at a time, but as CMO, I can influence the health of thousands globally every day," said de Csepel, underscoring his passion for patient care.
