RMCAD Fashion Showcase 2026: A Bold Recontextualization of the Catwalk
A Celebration of Fashion Innovation
On June 5, 2026, the Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design (RMCAD) will host its highly anticipated Annual Fashion Showcase at the Denver Center for Performing Arts' Studio Loft. This year's showcase revolves around the compelling theme of "Recontextualize," which aims to challenge conventional views within the fashion industry.
The showcase will present a collection of original garments crafted by 21 talented fashion design students, exhibiting a total of over 100 unique looks. Audiences can expect an extraordinary display of creativity and skill, reflecting the students' ability to think outside the box and push the boundaries of traditional fashion.
A noteworthy highlight of this year’s event is the inclusion of high-fashion outerwear made from upcycled materials, generously provided by the event's sponsor, Rab. This initiative not only showcases innovation but also emphasizes the importance of sustainability within the fashion industry, making it a key part of the showcase's ethos.
Post-show, there will be an award ceremony hosted by Stephanie Carlo, the Chair of Fashion Design at RMCAD. The ceremony will recognize outstanding achievements in various categories such as Best Collection, Best Workmanship, and Best Concept. Additionally, attendees can look forward to awards specifically highlighting the central theme, including Best Look, Most Creative Use of Upcycled Materials, Best Volunteer, and a Photography Award.
Tickets for this exciting event are already available, with prices ranging from $15 for General Admission to $30 for VIP access. Those choosing to attend in person will be welcomed at 6:00 p.m. MT, allowing time for mingling before the showcase begins at 7:00 p.m. and concludes at 9:30 p.m. MT. For individuals unable to attend in person, a live stream option will also be offered.
Stephanie Carlo expressed her enthusiasm for the event, stating, "This year's showcase celebrates our students' ability to turn bold ideas into thoughtful, well-crafted garments. Their commitment to innovation, technique, and sustainability shines in every collection, and I can't wait for our community to experience it."
This event is not just a platform for budding fashion designers; it also invites the community to engage with and support upcoming talents in the arts. It showcases the vibrant culture within RMCAD and highlights the creative potential of the next generation of fashion designers.
