Exciting Events Highlighting Local Factories at Tokyo International Gift Show 2026

From September 2 to 4, 2026, the Tokyo Big Sight will be buzzing with energy when the Tokyo International Gift Show unveils its latest offerings. Among the participants, Machikoba Products, represented by Reiji Manabe, will co-exhibit alongside other outstanding local manufacturers. The event's theme, "Local Factories Proposing Living Goods and Circular Economy," emphasizes the creativity and resourcefulness of Japan's town factories.

Eight local manufacturers from across the nation will band together to showcase their unique products crafted from various materials such as paper, metal, resin, and textiles. This event represents an excellent opportunity to discover innovative goods that infuse everyday life with new value.

In a unique first for this year's show, a limited edition booklet introducing the exhibitors will also be distributed. Printed and bound by Mogami Paper Works, these booklets will be available daily until supplies run out. Experience the "Rofukoto Town Factory" at Shibuya Loft

Kicking off on September 1, 2026, the Rofukoto Town Factory initiative will be a part of the Shibuya Loft's “Rofukoto Zakka Store” dedicated to regional revitalization and SDGs. Now in its seventh iteration, this initiative brings together workshops that promote meticulous craftsmanship, showcasing the best of Japan's local factories. The Rofukoto Town Factory highlights the “Open Factory” experience, where visitors can explore and participate in hands-on factory tours. A broad range of products from 32 local factories will be displayed, providing a rare chance to appreciate the diversity of offerings in one place.

Notably, even the popular public bathhouse “Ogon-yu” in Sumida, Tokyo, known for its many local factories, will join the event, offering exclusive collaborations and goods, including limited-edition T-shirts produced with the textile company Kume Sen-i.
