The Public Interest Incorporated Association of Japan Professional Tennis Association (JPTA), led by Chairman Hideki Arai, welcomed numerous young tennis players to the 2025 New Generation Tennis Ishiguro Cup held in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka from February 20 to 23, 2026. Accompanied by esteemed figures like Akiko Sando, the president of the JPTA, and vice-president Ai Sugiyama, the event featured engaging talks and player interactions aimed at nurturing the next generation of tennis stars.

About the New Generation Tennis Ishiguro Cup



This annual tournament, organized by the JPTA, operates under the objective of fostering tennis through youth support, aiming to develop the future pillars of the sport. The cup consists of two main divisions:

1. JPTA All Japan Junior Tennis Tournament: This tournament serves as a platform to cultivate junior talents who can shine on the international stage. The winners and runners-up gain the opportunity to participate in the Discovery Open organized by the IMG Academy in Florida.
2. New Generation Tennis Junior Scout Caravan: This division focuses on identifying junior players with high potential. The top performers benefit from JPTA’s nurturing programs, including domestic training and enhancement camps.
