The 'Fear Exhibition': A Deep Dive into Human Emotion
This summer, a groundbreaking art installation titled
'Fear Exhibition' is set to launch in Tokyo, spearheaded by acclaimed horror writer
Nashi and the minds behind
Jigoku no Yami. Along with
Tokikazu Ohmori, a notable producer from TV Tokyo renowned for his works, including
'Ishina Gaki Kiku wa Sagashiteimasu', this exhibition promises to unravel the intricate feeling of fear.
Exploring the Concept of Fear
The
'Fear Exhibition' is designed to delve into the various facets of fear, which intriguingly does not belong to the realm of basic emotions such as happiness, sadness, or anger. Fear is a complex feeling physiological and psychological in nature, often manifesting itself in response to something perceived as threatening. Interestingly, fear can be experienced not only in dangerous situations but also in settings that seem entirely benign.
The exhibition will challenge attendees to confront their own feelings of fear through displays themed around topics like
'claustrophobia,' 'gaze,' and
'novelty.' Visitors can expect installations that range from the unnerving to the unexplainably bizarre, aiming to provoke a deep introspection on what constitutes the fears we harbor.

Voices Behind the Exhibition
Nashi reflects on humanity's relationship with fear:
"It seems humans are not capable of fearing things casually; we fear deeply and intensively."
The essence of fear, according to him, lies not merely in what is feared but in the
heart that experiences it.
To this end,
Seitaro Toka, from Yami Inc., notes,
"For ten years, we have confronted the concept of fear. Understanding fear reveals much about our own hearts and individual experiences. The exhibition aims to encapsulate the myriad forms of fear and recreate them through storytelling."
Tokikazu Ohmori adds,
"Engaging with fear equates to confronting oneself. It is a significant journey into the heart of our psyche."
Through
The Fear Exhibition, we invite you to step into a world that compels you to look at your fears and understand what lies beneath their surface.
