Vantage Foundation Celebrates Giving Day at SOS Children's Villages in the Philippines
In an inspiring display of community spirit, volunteers from the Vantage Foundation gathered to celebrate a heartfelt day of giving at SOS Children’s Villages in the Philippines. This event was not just about donations; it was a meaningful occasion where volunteers shared laughter, experiences, and support with the children, creating cherished memories that last a lifetime.
As part of their outreach and information initiative, the Vantage Foundation made generous contributions to eight homes within the village, providing essential food items and supplies, thanks to the dedicated caregivers who nurture groups of 8-10 children. Additionally, branded notebooks and pens were distributed, fostering education and creativity among the children.
The day commenced with an introductory session where volunteers were briefed about the program's structure and prepared for the activities ahead. Upon entering the village, warm smiles and enthusiastic greetings from the children set the tone for a day filled with joy, learning, and meaningful interactions.
The events were carefully designed for various age groups, encouraging self-expression, creativity, and teamwork. For the youngest participants, aged 3 to 7, "Show and Tell" activities enabled them to express their creativity through drawings. Older children, aged 8 to 12, engaged in a village-building contest, stimulating their imagination and collaboration skills. Meanwhile, teenagers aged 13 to 19 participated in a community problem-solving workshop that encouraged them to identify issues in their environment and propose innovative solutions. These activities went beyond mere play; they were opportunities for children to dream, collaborate, and express themselves in a safe and affirming space.
Following the activities, volunteers and children gathered for lunch, sharing stories and connecting over a warm meal. The event culminated in a distribution of gifts, providing each child with a memento of their time spent together.
