WIRED Japan Volume 57: The Big Interview - Visionaries Shaping the Future
WIRED Japan, the pioneering media entity focused on future innovations, is set to release its latest issue, Volume 57, on September 16, 2025. Notable scientists such as Nobel Prize winner Demis Hassabis and Jennifer Doudna, as well as cultural icons like Grimes and filmmaker Christopher Nolan, have also graced the series.
The latest issue dives into the topic of "Visionaries Shaping the Future" and shines a spotlight on 14 voices from both Japan and abroad. Featured contributors include leading architect Sou Fujimoto, celebrated for his work on the "Grand Roof Ring" at the Osaka-Kansai Expo, as well as AMI, who is expected to win a gold medal in breaking at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Other prominent figures are acclaimed game designer Hideo Kojima, media artist and expo theme producer Yoichi Ochiai, and poet and novelist Mieko Kawakami.
To celebrate the launch of this issue, a public big interview event with architect Sou Fujimoto will be held on September 26, 2025, at Daikanyama Tsutaya Bookstore. This event promises to explore the themes around the ongoing expo, along with insights on future urban landscapes derived from his current large-scale exhibition, "Sou Fujimoto's Architecture: Origins, Future, Forest."
