On July 27, 2025, the SHINJUKU Capybara Summer Festival will transform the B1 Patio Square of Shinjuku Island Tower into a delightful, capybara-filled escape from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Organized by Clearstone Co., Ltd., this event promises a fun, furry, and free day for families and friends alike!

An Unforgettable Day with Capybaras

The main attraction will be two real capybaras, offering attendees a unique opportunity to get up close, touch, and take memorable photos with these adorable creatures. Additionally, attendees will be greeted by the popular character ChubbyMaru, whom you may recognize from social media, boasting over 5 million views online. ChubbyMaru will make a special appearance in costume, adding even more excitement to this remarkable festival!

All Activities Are Free

All participants can enjoy a variety of free activities designed for children and families. Highlights include the capybara-themed shaved ice dessert, lovingly called 'Kapi Ice,' along with classic summer fair games such as yo-yo fishing and super ball scooping. It's a wonderful opportunity to indulge in nostalgic summer activities while surrounded by the buzz of excited families.

To sweeten the experience, the first 300 participants who share their photos on social media will receive a plush ChubbyMaru keychain, ensuring everyone leaves with a special memento of their day!

- Access: 30 seconds walk from Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line's Nishi-Shinjuku Station, around 8 minutes from Toei Oedo Line's Tocho-Mae Station, and approximately 10 minutes walk from JR Shinjuku Station West Exit.
- Admission Fee: Free (activities may have limited times/quantities)

Exciting Schedule

- Capybara Interaction & Photo Sessions: 11:30 AM, 1:30 PM, and 3:00 PM (Each session lasts 30 minutes)
- Free Distribution of 'Kapi Ice': Delight in the icy treat!
