Environmental Symposium and Sewer Exhibition in Choshi Village
On June 21, 2026, Choshi Village in Chiba Prefecture will hold a free event entitled "Environmental Symposium and Sewer Exhibition - A Story of Clean Water Connected to the Next Generation." This unique gathering aims to raise awareness of environmental issues and the importance of sewage systems in preserving water quality.
Event Highlights
The day will feature a range of activities, including a special lecture by renowned mountaineer Ken Noguchi, who will address pressing environmental issues during a talk show session. Along with him, notable figures like Eiko Noguchi, the 2026 Miss Japan Grand Prix winner, and Miho Shimura, the 2026 Miss Japan 'Water Angel,' will participate in a panel discussion focusing on the theme of water.
One of the thrilling highlights will be the unveiling ceremony of a colorfully designed manhole cover in collaboration with a popular anime series, showcasing the blend of culture and environmental awareness. Additionally, the sewer exhibition will display various creative manhole designs and an extensive collection of manhole cards—over 1,264 types from 769 municipalities and 4 organizations!
