TACT Festival 2026 Opens Tomorrow!
The TACT Festival 2026, dedicated to Theatre Arts for Children and Teens, is set to begin tomorrow, April 29, at the Tokyo Arts Theatre. The festival provides a vibrant platform for everyone, from children to adults, featuring a diverse lineup that promises to delight and inspire.
Scheduled primarily at the Tokyo Arts Theatre, this year’s festival will showcase a total of 16 productions across 66 performances, ranging from ticketed theater programs to a variety of free events designed to engage the community.
Exciting Lineup of Events
On the opening day, festival-goers can look forward to the highly anticipated “TACT Yokai,” which boasts three exciting performances. From May 2, audiences will be treated to the circus duo, La Boule, followed by the whimsical and poetic company of Non Nova with their enchanting work, “L’après-midi d’un foehn Version.1.” This poetic work brings to life a wonderful story where the interplay of wind and recycled materials creates a visually stunning atmosphere.
In addition to these performances, the festival welcomes the composer group JACSHA, presenting a unique interactive music experience that resonates with the cultural legacy of sumo wrestling. This eclectic mix of art forms promises to create a memorable cultural experience.
Other offerings during the festival include a brass band live performance, collaboration between young pianists and professional musicians, street performances, and craft workshops—all free for attendees. It’s a full package designed for family fun this Golden Week!
