Envision Energy Unveils Gen 8 Scalable Platform for Enhanced Energy Solutions

Envision Energy Unveils the Revolutionary Gen 8 Scalable Platform

Envision Energy, a prominent player in the green technology sphere, has recently unveiled its Gen 8 scalable platform at a highly anticipated Tech Day event held in Beijing. This launch follows the earlier showcase of the 8 MWh solution at the Intersolar event earlier in the year. The latest generation is specifically designed to cater to a diverse range of needs related to renewable energy integration and decarbonization projects across the globe.

Modular Design Enhancements and Energy Density Growth

The Gen 8 platform builds on the successes of its predecessor, the Gen 6, boasting a modular skid design that offers unparalleled on-site flexibility. This new iteration minimizes the need for extensive factory balancing work and employs advancements in energy density. Central to this improvement is the incorporation of a new 750+ Ah cell, which not only maximizes energy potential but also allows for a variety of modular configurations. Users can opt for setups ranging from 6 MWh to over 12 MWh per unit, giving them the freedom to find the perfect balance between footprint and energy duration based on their specific project requirements.

Enhanced Flexibility and Safety Features

Envision’s Gen 8 platform boasts a lightweight 10-foot modular structure, facilitating easy transportation and logistical handling. Each unit weighs under 29 tons, which means that customers can utilize lower-tonnage transport vehicles and cranes, thereby optimizing project costs. The new design comes equipped with advanced fire prevention measures that adhere to the industry's strictest safety standards, ensuring operational safety and minimizing auxiliary energy consumption by 12%.

This platform is not just about design; it’s an innovation aimed at maximizing performance. With advanced algorithms for state of charge (SoC) and continuous dynamic balancing, users can utilize their systems to the fullest potential, ensuring accurate monitoring and reducing operational downtime.

Economic Benefits through Intelligent Optimization

One of the significant benefits of the Gen 8 platform is its high-capacity units, which translate into increased energy density. Compared to typical systems, the Gen 8 units occupy 26% less space while cutting down on auxiliary energy consumption. Economic projections indicate that a 100 MW/4 hours project could witness a 1% increase in the internal rate of return (IRR) compared to previous models.

The platform’s intelligent ecosystem, powered by Envision's cloud-based OT-IT EnOS, brings advanced SCADA, Energy Management Systems (EMS), and Hybrid Power Plant Controller (PPC) solutions to the table. This allows for efficient real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance, ensuring maximum profitability while extending the lifecycle of the systems in use. The advanced analytics also monitor thermal and electrical anomalies, significantly enhancing asset protection.

Environmentally Conscious Design

Envision Energy has also introduced a new 10 MVA configuration, which comprises four parallel PCS units operating at 2.5 MW each. This modular approach not only boosts system availability but also reduces noise levels compared to larger machines, proving advantageous in noise-sensitive environments. Designed to endure extreme conditions ranging from -30°C to +55°C, the Gen 8 platform complies with strict corrosion and environmental standards, making it suitable for various challenging locations.

"The Gen 8 scalable platform showcases our ongoing commitment to providing energy storage solutions that blend technical excellence with practical adaptability," remarked Kevin Huang, Senior Vice President and President of Energy Storage Product Line at Envision Energy. This innovative platform stands to support a cleaner, smarter, and more resilient energy future while accelerating the global transition towards renewable sources.
