MFS Investment Management Partners with Crayola to Promote Creativity and Financial Literacy in Education

MFS Investment Management and Crayola Join Forces to Encourage Creativity and Financial Literacy

On November 11, 2025, Crayola and MFS Investment Management announced an innovative partnership aimed at enhancing financial literacy and creativity among young learners as part of the upcoming Crayola Creativity Week 2026. This collaboration seeks to empower educators and families by providing valuable resources to promote financial understanding in engaging ways.

A Unique Collaboration for a Vital Cause

Crayola Creativity Week draws immense participation, with over 13 million students from more than 120 countries joining last year. This year, MFS, an official sponsor, is excited to introduce the Investing in Creativity Sweepstakes, running until December 8, 2025. The initiative will award ten educators with $2,500 each, along with $1,000 worth of Crayola supplies, enabling them to host family events focused on creativity and financial literacy. Additionally, one family will be awarded $4,500 to start or contribute to a 529 Savings Plan, crucial for educational expenses.

Financial Literacy as a Cornerstone of Growth

Maureen Bryan, VP and Director of Corporate Citizenship at MFS, emphasized the importance of linking financial literacy with creativity, stating, "At MFS, we believe financial literacy and creativity are powerful tools for helping young people reach their full potential." The company acknowledges that schools that engage families in these vital topics often witness improved outcomes for students. Therefore, the partnership seeks to inspire creativity as a means of developing financial knowledge and personal finance skills among children.

Inclusive Resources for Educators and Families

As part of the partnership, MFS and Crayola offer various free resources, including activity sheets, a family engagement event guide, and a special learning video featuring actor Michael Rainey Jr. He will illustrate fun and effective strategies to enhance financial literacy and vocabulary, engage students creatively, and ultimately cultivate a generation of financially savvy young people. Rainey will read from A Quick History of Money, bringing the subject of finance to life for children.

The Significance of Creativity in Education

Cheri Sterman, Senior Director of Education at Crayola, remarked on the significance of creativity in education: "Creativity is a critical life skill that helps children reach their full potential. Using creativity to help kids become money smart brightens their future." With the blended focus on artistic expression and financial wisdom, the partnership encourages fun, informed decision-making around finances.

Exciting Events for Creativity Week 2026

Crayola Creativity Week is set to take place from January 26 to February 1, 2026, marking its fifth-anniversary milestone. Schools, families, and libraries will receive inspiring interactive content to foster creative learning across subjects. From celebrity-partnered videos on hands-on activities to downloadable resources that enhance children's creativity, each day of the week will focus on themes like idea generation and community empowerment. Daily prizes and a livestream assembly increasing engagement throughout the week will ensure that creativity remains integral in educational settings.

Crayola’s Campaign for Creativity strives to spotlight creativity as a vital mindset for overall growth and wellbeing. The initiative provides resources that promote creativity in educational systems and at home, ensuring it plays a foundational role in child development.

A Call to Action for Families and Educators
