Gakken Group Introduces Summer Workshop for Future Childcare Workers
Amidst pressing societal challenges such as declining birth rates and a shortage of childcare professionals, Gakken Group is taking proactive measures to cultivate future-oriented education in this vital field.
Recently, Gakken Cocofump, a part of the Gakken Group based in Shinagawa, Tokyo, announced an exciting summer program tailored for high school students interested in childcare. This initiative, entitled the "Future Childcare Worker Egg Course," launches at the Gakken Academy Childcare Training Course, a designated training facility for childcare professionals in Tokyo.
Aims to Develop Quality Caregivers
Since April 2018, Gakken has been addressing the urgent issue of childcare worker shortages through the development of quality personnel. The course not only aims to train immediate implementable childcare staff but also seeks to aid in building careers in the child-rearing support sector. By engaging with high school students through hands-on workshops, the program aims to paint a clearer picture of what working as a childcare professional entails.
The program includes three workshops where participants can learn the basics of childcare through enjoyable activities. Students will have the chance to practice reading storybooks aloud and engage in hand games, making it both educational and entertaining. This comprehensive approach is designed particularly for those aspiring to become childcare professionals, as well as anyone who simply enjoys working with children and is contemplating future career paths.
Program Schedule
The workshop comprises three sessions:
- - Session 1: July 28 (Tuesday) 10:00 - 11:00 (Online via Zoom)
- - Session 2: August 7 (Friday) 10:00 - 11:30 (In-person at Gakken Academy)
- - Session 3: August 25 (Tuesday) 10:00 - 11:30 (In-person at Gakken Academy)
These free sessions are an excellent opportunity for high school students to gain insight into a career in childcare, and attendance is crucial for those who aspire to this path.
