Japanese Language Training for Foreign Truck Drivers



The Japanese International Cooperation Center (JICE) is currently inviting applications for its specialized training program aimed at foreign truck drivers in Japan. This program is designed to enhance the Japanese language skills that are essential for safely navigating and effectively working in the logistics sector.

Training Overview


The training curriculum focuses on several key areas, ensuring that participants gain practical language skills applicable to their roles. The provided training includes:
1. Safety Driving and Ride-Along Training in Japanese: Participants will learn essential vocabulary and phrases related to safety and operational procedures while driving.
2. Routine Operations in Their First Year: New drivers will familiarize themselves with daily and routine tasks that are critical for smooth operations within the Japanese transport framework.
3. Initial Troubleshooting: Skills related to problem-solving and emergency communication will be emphasized to prepare drivers for real-world scenarios.

Program Details


  • - Duration: The training runs from November 2 to November 30, consisting of 12 sessions totaling 48 hours.
  • - Days and Time: Classes will be held every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 10:00 to 15:00 (excluding holidays), with a one-hour break included. The specific dates for the sessions are as follows:
- November 2, 4, 6, 9, 11, 13, 16, 18, 20, and 25, 27, and 30.
- A backup date is scheduled for December 2.
  • - Format: Online classes will be conducted via Zoom to accommodate participants from various locations.
  • - Tuition Fee: The cost to enroll in this program is 82,500 JPY (including tax).

Eligibility


This program targets foreign workers who are currently employed as truck drivers by Japanese automotive transport companies. It is ideally suited for those who have recently arrived in Japan or are about to begin independent driving duties.

Application Process


Interested participants must apply through the designated online application form provided by JICE. Please note that only applications from company representatives are accepted; individual applications will not be processed. Be sure to review the service usage terms before submitting your application.

Capacity and Deadline


The training is limited to 16 participants to ensure an effective learning environment. A minimum of nine participants is required for the course to proceed. The deadline for applications is August 31, 2026. However, if the enrollment exceeds the capacity, the registration may close earlier. Future sessions are anticipated to be offered after December 2026, and interested companies should fill out the provided questionnaire to express their interest.
