Tomorrow HOPE Scholarship Program Celebrates Fourth Award Ceremony

On April 25th, the Amway Foundation, located in Shibuya, Tokyo, hosted the fourth awarding ceremony of its Tomorrow HOPE Scholarship Program. This event recognized 12 students who have been selected through an open application process, providing them vital financial support as they pursue their higher education goals.

Established in September 2022, the Tomorrow HOPE Project aims to tackle the pressing issue of child poverty in Japan. The scholarship offers 600,000 yen annually, alongside a celebration bonus of 100,000 yen at both the commencement and graduation stages. Additionally, students receive partial funding for domestic and international training opportunities. Overall, the initiative allows recipients to receive continuous assistance for up to six years, positively impacting their educational journey and future aspirations.

During the ceremony, the Executive Director of the Amway Foundation, Kafu To, delivered an inspiring opening address. He emphasized that the Tomorrow HOPE Scholarship Program is closely tied to the values of Amway and its donors, focusing on empowering individuals to lead better lives through educational support. "You all have clear ideas about your future and how you wish to contribute to society. I eagerly look forward to your growth and development in the years to come," he stated.

Following his remarks, Irina Menshikova, Chair of the Foundation's Board and President of Amway Japan, expressed her beliefs regarding the foundation's mission. She stated that the scholarship not only provides financial assistance to those in need but also fosters a community of shared values among the students. "As long as you stay true to your dreams and make the right choices, I believe they will lead to a better tomorrow," she encouraged.

In a heartfelt moment, the student representative expressed gratitude for the support from donors, vowing to diligently pursue academic endeavors in alignment with their personal dreams and goals. Each student was then awarded a certificate of recognition by Menshikova, celebrating their achievements.

In addition, alumni from the first through third scholarship cohorts participated, engaging in group discussions to share their experiences and insights. One alum provided encouraging words, saying, "Dreams are not something you force; they gradually reveal themselves through varied experiences and encounters. I urge you to embrace challenges and discover your values and future. Experience has meaning, and it will empower you." The ceremony radiated a warm atmosphere, fostering connections across generations.

The Tomorrow HOPE Scholarship Program remains committed to ensuring every child has equal opportunities for learning and growth, and it continues to support the realization of their dreams, contributing to a more equitable society.
