World of Tanks: HEAT Season 2 Overview
On September 2, Wargaming launched Season 2 of their tank hero shooter,
World of Tanks: HEAT, titled
Fire and Ash. This season introduces exciting new elements that will enhance gameplay for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S players.
New Agent: Gambit
One of the highlights of Season 2 is the introduction of a new agent,
Gambit. This defender character specializes in holding the frontline and retaliating against pursuing enemies. Gambit possesses a passive skill known as the
Feedback Loop, which debuffs any vehicle that inflicts damage on him and ultimately disables that vehicle's abilities. In close-range scenarios, this effect is significantly more potent. His ultimate ability,
Iron Curtain, deploys defense drones that temporarily restore HP for him and nearby allies, granting defensive buffs that help teammates withstand heavy fire.
Introducing New Vehicles
Season 2 also brings a total of three new vehicles into the mix. Gambit has two unique tanks available, both of which players can earn for free through the battle pass progression. Additionally, a new tank named
M1150 Breacher has been added for the previously launched agent, Ember.
- - M60A3E2 (Gambit): This vehicle harnesses Energy Armor, temporarily boosting its defensive capabilities and track durability. It features a Blast Projector, which can unleash a chargeable shockwave to damage surrounding enemies, though it comes with increased risk to the player’s own vehicle.
- - T-72SH (Gambit): Equipped with a Disruption Field Generator, this tank interferes with enemy targeting. It also uses a Tesla Disk to deploy a device that causes pulse damage while jamming nearby adversaries.
- - M1150 Breacher (Ember): Designed for close-quarters combat, this tank features a flamethrower and incorporates tactics such as Line Charge and Incendiary Shell Launchers for dealing high damage even at medium range.
New Map: Inferno One
The introduction of the new map
Inferno One adds to the dynamic nature of gameplay. Set in a fictional Icelandic town that has suffered catastrophic volcanic eruptions, this battlefield is constantly changing, with lava flows altering the safe zones. Players will need to adjust their strategies as magma advances toward them, creating a tense and unpredictable environment.
Large-scale Conquest
The new
Conquest format allows for 20v20 battles, bringing a total of 40 players to a single map, escalating the scale of the encounters. The format remains consistent with the previous 10v10 Conquest, now doubling in player count. Five objectives are contested, with an unlimited number of respawns, enabling players to return to the fray repeatedly. Additionally, a tactical mode called
Defuse will allow for 5v5 matches with one life per round, restricted to peak weekend hours initially but expanding as the season progresses.
Battle Pass: Fire and Ash
The Season 2 battle pass, titled
Fire and Ash, will be available throughout the season. As in previous seasons, all rewards can be earned for free simply by playing. Those who purchase the premium pass for 1,000 HEAT coins will have the ability to unlock rewards in any order they choose. With the new
Archive feature, players can continue working towards battle pass rewards from previous seasons after they conclude, maintaining their premium status.
The enhancements coming with Season 2 are designed to provide players with a richer gaming experience and expand the tactical possibilities in
