OCS Selected as a Freight Forwarder in Tokyo's SAF Initiative

On June 2, 2026, OCS Co., Ltd. (based in Koto, Tokyo, and led by CEO Hiroshi Sugiguchi) announced its selection as a freight forwarder for the Tokyo SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) usage promotion project, part of the ambitious "2050 Tokyo Strategy - Making Tokyo Better!" initiative. This marks the third consecutive year OCS has been recognized in this role since starting in the fiscal year 2024.

The Tokyo SAF initiative aims to support freight transportation companies by subsidizing costs associated with the use of SAF or biofuels in air and sea freight services. This financial backing from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government is designed to promote the reduction of CO2 emissions across the entire supply chain.

OCS is set to leverage the strengths of the ANA Group, integrating its cutting-edge sustainability framework. Through the cargo program of ANA's GHG Protocol-based decarbonization plan, named the “SAF Flight Initiative,” OCS is committed to delivering rapid and reliable environmental value in international courier services.

As part of its mission to contribute to the decarbonization goals of Tokyo’s customers, OCS will continue to provide eco-friendly transport services, aligning with the needs and understanding of its clients.

The initiative exemplifies OCS's dedication to achieving a sustainable society while enhancing corporate value. The company plans to maintain its focus on delivering environmentally-responsible transport solutions through ongoing collaboration with clients and consistent commitment to sustainability.

Background of OCS

Founded on September 1, 1957, OCS has established itself as a leader in logistics solutions in Japan. With its headquarters located at 3-9-27 Tatsumi, Koto, Tokyo, the company specializes in integrating efficient transportation methods while prioritizing environmental considerations.

What is SAF?

Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) is produced from renewable resources, aiming to reduce the carbon footprint associated with traditional jet fuels. The implementation of SAF is a critical step towards achieving a sustainable supply chain, particularly in logistics and transportation, which are often significant contributors to global CO2 emissions.

OCS's role in this initiative not only reinforces its commitment to innovative and sustainable practices but also highlights the importance of collaborative efforts in the logistics sector to drive systemic change towards a greener future. By actively participating in the Tokyo SAF program, OCS is poised to make significant contributions to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the advancement of eco-friendly logistics solutions in the coming years.
