Future Standard Achieves Record Closing with $3 Billion Fund, Marking a Milestone in Private Equity
Future Standard Makes History with New Fund
In a landmark achievement, Future Standard, a prominent global alternative asset manager, has finalized its largest private fund to date, the PA Secondary Fund V (PASF V), securing approximately $3 billion in commitments. This significant closing not only marks a critical point in the firm's 30-year history but also underscores the robust confidence investors have in the firm's strategic focus on middle-market opportunities.
Having built a notable reputation with over $90 billion in assets under management, Future Standard is dedicated to investing through the secondary market in private equity funds. PASF V specifically aims to acquire interests in these funds, primarily emphasizing transactions led by limited partners in the North American middle market. The firm’s strategy revolves around careful selection, diversification, and disciplined capital allocation, all of which are enhanced by its well-established relationships within the private equity landscape.
Patrick Gerbracht, Managing Director and Co-Head of LP-Led Secondaries at Future Standard, commented on the fund’s focus, stating, "Middle market secondaries provide an efficient avenue to access high-quality companies at favorable entry points. They also offer strong visibility and compelling risk-adjusted returns for our investors. The overwhelming global investor support reflects confidence in our disciplined and focused approach."
The PASF V fund attracted commitments from an impressive 350 institutional investors, including both new and existing partners, across North America, Europe, and Asia. This level of commitment serves as a testament to the firm’s expanding global presence and the strength of its middle-market secondaries platform.
Justin Lux, Managing Director and Co-Head of LP-Led Secondaries, emphasized the uniqueness of the current market environment, stating, "The record-breaking volume of secondaries creates one of the most attractive conditions we have seen in years. Coupled with the strength of our broader private markets platform, we are strongly positioned to identify and capitalize on lucrative opportunities, converting this environment into differentiated outcomes for our investors."
Since 2002, Future Standard has recognized the strategic importance of private equity secondaries. It has built one of the industry's most enduring platforms, estimated to have deployed over $12 billion across various market cycles. This extensive track record and expertise further solidify Future Standard’s standing as an innovator and leader in the field.
