Concorde Career Colleges has appointed Mark Garland as the President of its new Glendale campus, set to be launched in Greater Phoenix. This move signifies Concorde's commitment to expanding its educational footprint in Arizona, particularly in the healthcare sector. Kevin Prehn, President of Concorde Career Colleges, expressed enthusiasm about Garland’s extensive experience in higher education and operational management. With over 25 years of experience, Garland previously held significant roles, including Campus President at the College of Health Care Professions in Dallas.
The Glendale campus, Concorde’s first in Arizona and the sixth in the Southwestern U.S., will be located at 8990 W. Glendale Ave. The facility will cover an impressive 53,000 square feet and is expected to accommodate more than 620 students annually, offering various healthcare programs. These will include training for roles as a nurse, dental assistant, medical assistant, physical therapy assistant, pharmacy technician, surgical technologist, and radiologic technologist.
Scheduled to open in 2027, pending necessary approvals, the Glendale campus represents a crucial step in addressing the growing demand for skilled healthcare professionals in Arizona. Garland stated, "I am honored and truly excited to lead the launch of our Glendale campus at such a pivotal time of growth for Concorde. We are committed to cultivating a high-performing campus team and fostering strong employer partnerships that address the region's healthcare needs. This initiative is part of the multi-year North Star strategy set by Universal Technical Institute, Inc., targeting the nationwide shortage of healthcare professionals. The strategy focuses on opening multiple campuses each year between 2026 and 2029, introducing new programs, and optimizing operations for better resource management.
