Booost's Executive Roundtable on Sustainability
On October 9, 2025, Booost, Inc., a leading provider of sustainability ERP solutions based in Shinagawa, Tokyo, organized an exclusive Executive Roundtable for top CFOs and Chief Sustainability Officers (CSOs) of major corporations listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange with a market capitalization exceeding ¥1 trillion. This gathering aimed to share insights and enhance understanding before the launch of the "Hitotsubashi University × Booost Practical Forum on Proactive Sustainability" scheduled for January 2026.
The event featured Hiroshi Komori, a board member of the IFRS Foundation, as a guest speaker, with Professor Noma from Hitotsubashi University serving as the moderator. The discussion focused on the mandated disclosure of non-financial information based on the SSBJ standard, viewing it as a catalyst for significant corporate transformation. Participants engaged in lively discussions about the institutional background of ISSB/SSBJ and the essence of disclosure from an investor's perspective, encapsulating the message that "disclosure is intrinsically linked to corporate strategy."
Prominent executives from leading companies addressed the challenges they face regarding sustainability initiatives. The roundtable served as a platform for sharing concerns, questions, and practical discussions needed for effective strategy implementation. The enthusiastic engagement set a solid foundation for future dialogues.
Following the success of the roundtable, a second meeting is scheduled for November 18, 2025, with updates on guest speakers to be sent to interested participants.
Participants' Feedback
Feedback from the participants highlighted the profound understanding gained regarding the intentions of ISSB and SSBJ, as well as the core concept of 'strategic disclosure.' Insights into how to connect strategy with disclosure were emphasized, particularly the notion that disclosure reflects corporate strategy itself.
Many attendees expressed renewed awareness of the need to integrate disclosure within the framework of strategy rather than treating it merely as an end goal. This interaction provided essential perspectives for refining their companies' strategies vis-à-vis materiality issues. Moreover, the candid discussions among CFOs and CSOs fostered invaluable insights into how non-financial information disclosure can be practically utilized in corporate management.
