Sapporo's Financial Seminar: Strengthening Financial Functions and New Business Opportunities

Sapporo Financial Companies Invitation Seminar: Current Status of Sapporo as a Business Hub

On October 14, 2025, Sapporo will host a significant financial seminar titled "The Current Status of Sapporo as a Business Town." This event will take place at KABUTO ONE, and it aims to strengthen the financial functions of the city. The seminar will feature Kiyoyuki Tsuchimoto, the CEO of Heiwa Real Estate Co., Ltd., who will share insights on Sapporo's ambition to become a prominent financial hub in Asia and globally.

Sapporo City has recently been designated as a "Financial and Asset Management Special Zone" as of June 2024, which reflects its commitment to promoting the growth of green finance (GX) industries and enhancing financial function aggregation. The city is undergoing various redevelopment projects, including the "Dōri Nishi 4-Minami District First-Class Urban Redevelopment Project" and the "Sapporo Station South Exit North 4-West 3 District First-Class Urban Redevelopment Project." These initiatives are crucial for inviting financial companies and stimulating local economic growth.

During the seminar, Tsuchimoto will introduce these redevelopment projects and delve into the establishment of FinGATE, a pivotal hub for financial professionals located in the Nihonbashi Kabuto-cho and Kayabacho areas of Tokyo. FinGATE serves as a service office space tailored for independent asset management firms, fintech startups, and other financial stakeholders, boasting more than 100 diverse financial players from both domestic and international backgrounds. The facility not only provides office spaces but also fosters business matching and networking opportunities, and supports startups with back-office services tailored to their growth stages.

Additionally, on October 20, 2025, the opening of "FinGATE Sapporo in IKEUCH LAB" is scheduled, further embedding the collaborative spirit between the Sapporo and Tokyo offices. This will pave the way for promoting exchanges of talent, information, and capital, thereby contributing to enhancing Sapporo's financial functions.

The latter part of the event will feature a panel discussion involving notable figures including Sapporo Mayor Katsuhiro Akimoto, Daiki Kimura, CEO of Keyaki Capital Co., Ltd., and Toshiyuki Matsushita, Director of Investment Advisory at Kadira Capital Management. They will discuss the current landscape and future possibilities for green finance and economic revitalization in Sapporo.

The Sapporo Financial Companies Invitation Seminar promises to be an invaluable opportunity for those interested in new business prospects and network formation in the region. We invite domestic financial professionals, investors, venture capitalists, fintech and GX operators, and startups to join this important discussion.
