Rescue Village Premieres Heartfelt Film at Gala
On June 20th, 2025, Rescue Village showcased its new feature film,
'Every Rescue is a Promise', at their annual gala event held in Cleveland. This emotionally resonant video was presented to an audience of nearly 200 supporters, capturing the essence of the organization's dedication to animal rescue and the lives they positively impact.
A Deep Dive into Transformation
'Every Rescue is a Promise' is a poignant exploration of three remarkable stories that highlight the resilience of animals and the significant changes in their lives after being rescued. Each tale offers not only a look at the individual animals but also illustrates the broader effect of Rescue Village’s unwavering commitment to their mission.
1.
Roscoe, a dog who faced behavioral challenges, ultimately emerged as a hero for his owner, showcasing how love and patience can foster great transformations.
2.
Denny, a courageous one-eyed kitten living with FeLV, found a nurturing home with a young boy who exemplified resilience and compassion.
3.
David Lee Roth, a dog who overcame a background of criminal neglect, blossomed into a child's cherished companion.
These narratives underscore the reality that the work done at Rescue Village extends beyond mere rescue; it embodies the restoration of trust, dignity, and relationships. As Kenneth Clarke, the Executive Director of Rescue Village, aptly stated, “The animals we rescue go on to rescue us in return.” This relationship is at the very heart of the organization's ethos, made possible by the generous support of its donors.
Making an Impact
The gala proved to be not only a platform for the film premiere but also a vital fundraiser. The event successfully raised
over $145,000 for ongoing programs and day-to-day operations at Rescue Village, which is a private nonprofit relying entirely on private donations, as it does not receive any taxpayer funding. This financial support is crucial, enabling the organization to deliver critical services such as rescue, medical care, humane law enforcement, and community education.
Guests also participated in a heartwarming tradition with the annual
Alpha Dog auction for
Woofstock 2025—an event celebrated in September. This year’s spotlight dog,
Fynn, belonging to Robert and Linda Glickman, was illustrated by renowned cartoonist Jenny Campbell and will feature prominently in promotional materials for the upcoming festival, now recognized as
Cleveland Magazine's Best of the East for three consecutive years.
