What is MyNavi DANCEALIVE?

Originally launched in 2005 as DANCE@LIVE in Japan, MyNavi DANCEALIVE has grown to be the world’s largest solo dance battle competition. The structure is based on a unique 1-on-1 format, where dancers face each other, responding to music played by a DJ without prior notice. The key to victory lies in the ability to impress judges with creativity and skill through improvised movements.

Participants compete in various dance styles, including HOUSE, BREAKING, HIPHOP, ALL STYLES, and POPPING. The competition is divided into general categories and a special section for kids, providing a platform for young talents to shine and become the stars of tomorrow.

Upcoming 2026 Kids Events

In preparation for the main event, several qualifiers are scheduled across different regions in Japan:

• - Hokkaido, Chugoku, Hokuriku, Kanto, Chubu, Kansai, and Tohoku will also host their unique qualifiers leading up to the final showdown in April.

The KIDS Category

The KIDS category welcomes participants who are students in middle school or younger at the time of participation. The style of dance is ALL STYLES, which allows performers to bring their unique flair, regardless of their specific genre.

To qualify for the final, points are given based on each contestant’s ranking in the preliminary events. The top two from each district, along with two wildcard winners from the WILDCARD battle—held just a day before the finals—will earn a spot in the final competition.

Special Considerations

• - To participate in the WILDCARD decision battle, contestants must rank third in their district and must reside within that district. This ensures that the competition remains fair and representative of local talent.
• - There will be three rounds of qualifiers in each district, giving ample opportunity for young dancers across Japan to showcase their talents.
