Revitalization of Pools at Toubu and Hagiyama Parks
A consortium led by
Fujiers Wellness & Sports, headquartered in Nakano, Tokyo, has been selected as the preferred negotiator for a public-private partnership (PPP) initiative concerning the redevelopment of pools at
Toubu Park and the utilization of the former pool area at
Hagiyama Park in
Kodaira City, Tokyo.
This selection highlights Fujiers Group's commitment to community engagement through active involvement in various PPP/PFI projects across Japan, marking their eighth participation in such initiatives. Previous projects include the restoration of
Harayama Park in Sakai City, Osaka, and a joint school lunch preparation facility in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture.
Project Concept and Basic Guidelines
The primary concept behind this project is to establish an indoor heated pool at Toubu Park that serves as a gathering place for multiple generations, fostering an environment where children can learn from one another. Alongside the pool, additional sports facilities will be developed at both Toubu and Hagiyama Parks, which will be managed collectively to ensure effective operation and maintenance. The foundation of this initiative rests on three core principles:
1. Creating sports facilities where diverse age groups can come together and children can learn from each other.
2. Ensuring the facilities are accessible and welcoming, encouraging everyone to engage in sports.
3. Contributing to a secure and safe community through well-maintained sporting amenities.
Creating Spaces for Intergenerational Interaction
The Fujiers Group is dedicated to designing facilities that will become desirable destinations and comfortable gathering spots. The proposal includes the renovation of the indoor sports complex in Toubu Park to incorporate a heated pool and other everyday-utilizable sports features, while outdoor facilities at Hagiyama Park will promote ease of access to sports for people across all generations.
The management of this initiative will be overseen by
Fujiers Wellness & Sports, while overall project management and maintenance will be handled by
Fujiers Living Services, ensuring a cohesive team aimed at contributing positively to the urban landscape of Kodaira City.
