The First 'IncleTech' Summit in Japan: Pioneering Inclusion Through Technology

The First 'IncleTech' Summit in Japan: Redefining the Future of Organizations through Technology

On October 24, 2025, Lean on Me Co., Ltd., based in Takatsuki City, Osaka, will host Japan's first-ever summit focused on 'IncleTech' in Tokyo. This event, titled Inclusive Summit 2025: A New Era of Human Capital Management Driven by IncleTech, aims to address social issues through innovative technological solutions that promote inclusion.

What is IncleTech?
IncleTech combines the concepts of Inclusion and Technology, targeting the urgent need for societal change in the realm of diversity and accessibility. As the world increasingly prioritizes the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), IncleTech represents the potential for technology to facilitate greater inclusion of diverse populations, including individuals with disabilities and foreign workers.

Recent advancements in technology, such as voice recognition software and automatic translation systems, have significantly transformed how all individuals can participate actively in the workforce. The summit will showcase stories from key industry players who are implementing IncleTech initiatives successfully across various sectors including work, education, and entertainment.

Sessions Highlighting Inclusion Across Sectors

The summit will feature three main sessions:

1. Working with IncleTech
- Speakers:
- Tokuko Onodera, former Director of the Employment Promotion Division for Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare
- Yoji Sakuma, Special Research Fellow at Osaka University and Director of the Osaka Healthcare Pavilion for the Osaka-Kansai Expo
- Moderator: Shunsuke Shimura, CEO of Lean on Me
This session will explore how legal reforms affect employment practices and how technology can promote workplace diversity. Policymakers and innovators will discuss the promising employment landscape shaped by IncleTech.

2. Entertainment with IncleTech

3. Learning with IncleTech
- Speakers:
- Takahiko Yuno, CEO of Surala Network, a pioneer in EdTech
- Atsuko Kubata, Chief Diversity Officer at Dentsu Japan
- Moderator: Shunsuke Shimura, CEO of Lean on Me
This session will feature successful examples of talent development through EdTech and share practices from global companies on diversity strategies. Attendees will gain actionable insights into promoting human capital management from an international perspective with a focus on inclusivity.

Why Focus on IncleTech Now?

1. Addressing Labor Shortages with Innovative Approaches
Japan faces a declining working-age population, necessitating the exploration of previously overlooked talent. Technologies such as voice inputs and remote work tools make it possible for everyone to thrive regardless of their disabilities.

2. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) as Business Imperatives
Companies that excel in employing people with disabilities have seen substantial returns, including 1.6 times higher sales and 25% productivity improvements. IncleTech not only serves social objectives but is integral to enhancing business performance.

3. Preparing for the 2.7% Legal Employment Rate
The legal employment rate for persons with disabilities is set to increase to 2.7% in July 2026. There is an urgent need to shift from focusing predominantly on physical disabilities to embracing a broader spectrum, including mental and developmental disabilities, making technology critical for successful transition.
