Unleashing Potential: The New Education Program 'Super Camp' Launches in Japan

Unleashing Children's Potential with 'Super Camp'

A revolutionary educational initiative named 'Super Camp' is set to kick off in Japan from June 28 to 30, 2025. Spearheaded by HUUK Inc., the program aims to cultivate children's creativity, leadership skills, and sense of purpose in life through an immersive experiential education framework.

What is 'Super Camp'?

Originally developed as a seven-day program overseas focusing on improving IQ, EQ, and physical abilities, 'Super Camp' has been adapted for Japan where its integration into the school curriculum is challenging. Instead, it serves as a platform for social education, encouraging children to form distinct communities where they can engage openly with each other and pursue shared objectives. This allows participants to discover their latent potential while developing essential life skills beyond academic knowledge.

The first session of 'Super Camp' took place in the scenic Yatsugatake region, from June 28 to 30, 2025, engaging 20 participants—10 children aged 6 to 14, along with 10 adults. Attendees were able to explore their physical limits and learn the nuances of safety and risk in a supportive environment.

Day 1: Ice breakers, tent pitching, BBQ, and night walks.

Day 2: Hiking, visiting hot springs, vegetable harvesting, and BBQ.

Day 3: Treasure hunts, mountain biking races, tree climbing, and closing ceremonies.

The Inspiration Behind the Program

The founder of HUUK, Sho Kawase, envisioned becoming an educator who teaches children not just academics, but also critical life skills. Recognizing that teachers also need to evolve for effective mentorship, his perspective shifted during a family hiking trip on Mount Kilimanjaro, where he witnessed families learning and growing together in a natural setting. This observation was pivotal, leading him to create 'Super Camp' inspired by an established seven-day educational program abroad.

This innovative approach captures the essence of community engagement, offering children a space where they can express their thoughts freely and feel accepted unconditionally. Through this program, young participants can recognize their capabilities and redefine their life purposes.

Testimonials from Participants

  • - Nishimura Family:
After the camp, our child's actions became more pronounced, and their teacher reported a brighter and more proactive demeanor. Although our child may not realize the change, we certainly do.

  • - Watawai Family:
I initially thought I was the one who was helping my child. However, I found that I was the one who had grown the most. I unintentionally hindered my child's exploration and problem-solving skills. Engaging in activities like campfires and fishing made me realize my child's innate abilities.

  • - Okazaki Family:
We learned that endurance is built upon essential life skills. The idea of being 'your true self' became clearer; without strong roots, one can easily lose their way. This three-day experience taught us both the importance of foundational skills through collaboration in nature.

  • - Sakamoto Family:
Creating space allowed genuine conversations to emerge. Once we recognized that our attempts to reassure often stemmed from our own insecurities, we took a step back. When my child reached out to talk naturally, it was a profound interaction.

About the Second 'Super Camp'

The next edition of 'Super Camp' is scheduled for August 16 to 18, 2025, at Kaniwa Budokan in Chichibu, Saitama Prefecture. Registration is open, with fees set at 128,000 yen (tax excluded) for children and 59,800 yen (tax excluded) for adults. For more details, visit the official website at Super Camp.

Planned Activities:

  • - Day 1: Icebreakers, river activities, and cooking.
  • - Day 2: Cave exploration and shower climbing.
  • - Day 3: BMX races and closing ceremony.

Future Prospects

HUUK aims to host 'Super Camp' at least every two to three months while also considering reducing participation fees. The program encourages family involvement and plans to expand to various locations, incorporating diverse experiences for attendees. Partnerships with government-operated facilities across Japan will be explored.
