In a significant leadership shift within the entertainment marketing landscape, Create Advertising Group has appointed Jonathan Gitlin as its new Chief Executive Officer. This announcement comes as David Stern, the company’s founder, transitions to the role of Chairman after a successful twenty-year tenure leading the organization. Stern will remain actively involved in shaping the company's long-term strategy while Gitlin takes charge of day-to-day operations.
Gitlin's journey within Create began two decades ago as a design intern, gradually climbing the ranks to become President before assuming the top role. His extensive experience across various levels of the agency provides him with a unique perspective that is critical in today’s competitive environment. “Jonathan embodies the values that define Create — creativity, strategic vision, and a commitment to both clients and team members,” stated Stern.
As the industry undergoes rapid transformations, particularly with the convergence of theatrical releases, streaming services, and gaming platforms, Gitlin's leadership is poised to guide Create through these challenges. Create has recently launched an expanded key art and creative strategy practice in Los Angeles and London, which aims to provide clients with integrated support from the initial brief through to global rollout. This initiative includes the hiring of Joey Samaniego as the Creative Director, leading the Key Art department, and Gerry Batson as the Global Director of Creative Strategy, both of whom bring a wealth of experience from renowned projects in the entertainment industry.
Gitlin’s strategy also involves the advancement of an AI-native operational framework.
