The new alliance builds upon SoundExchange’s previous collaboration with MusicNation, combining technological resources, industry data, and expertise that supports the management of neighboring rights in the UAE. The agreement indicates MusicNation's key role in establishing the top-tier music licensing and royalty distribution framework across various rights, which includes neighboring rights, public performance rights, and mechanical rights, thus catering effectively to both local and international artists.

Michael Huppe, the President and CEO of SoundExchange, articulated the beneficial impact this agreement would have on music creators. According to him, this partnership will facilitate a new revenue stream for US artists by ensuring they receive compensation when their music is played in the UAE. Simultaneously, it will ensure that Emirati artists are duly compensated for their works being played in the US.
