qbiq AI Secures $16 Million in Series A Funding to Transform Architectural Planning with AI Technology

qbiq AI Secures $16 Million in Series A Funding

In a significant milestone for the architectural technology sector, qbiq, a leading AI-driven company specializing in the automation of architectural planning, has raised $16 million in a Series A funding round led by Insight Partners. The funding comes at a time when there is an increasing demand for innovative, efficient solutions in architectural design and planning.

Founded in 2019, qbiq has gained prominence for its unique software that allows users—both architects and non-architects—to effortlessly plan, visualize, and optimize spaces. The system operates through a straightforward input process. Users merely need to specify their requirements, whether that involves seating arrangements or finish materials, and qbiq's AI generates a comprehensive design package. This package not only includes optimized floor plans but also 3D visualizations, architectural programs, quantity estimates, and CAD/Revit models.

This innovative technology is transforming traditionally complex design processes into user-friendly solutions. As a result, decision-making and transactions have become significantly expedited, benefiting real estate agents, property owners, tenants, general contractors, and coworking chains alike.

Aiming for Industry Transformation

The $16 million investment from Insight Partners aims to propel qbiq’s mission to standardize automated architectural capabilities within the commercial real estate sector. By making architectural planning faster and more accessible, the company hopes to streamline the processes for both designers and non-designers.

Since its inception, the company claims to have enabled its clients to produce over 400 million square feet of architectural designs and visualizations in just hours, drastically shortening the timelines that often stretched for weeks or even months under traditional methods.

Leeor Solnik, qbiq’s CEO and co-founder, expressed excitement over the funding, highlighting the rapid growth the company has experienced since its launch. “When we officially launched in 2023, many thought it unrealistic to aim for delivering 9.1 million square meters. By 2024, we had already quadrupled that goal and we are now accelerating toward 900 million square meters,” he stated.

With Insight Partners now part of the equation, qbiq is expected to further kickstart its global expansion efforts.

Addressing Long-Standing Inefficiencies in Architectural Workflow

The architectural sector has long grappled with inefficiencies stemming from manual planning workflows that extend negotiation cycles and cause subsequent delays. For decades, creating designs typically required tedious manual work using tools like AutoCAD. Architects would painstakingly resolve complex design challenges line by line, and even when completed, these designs could be difficult to interpret for those lacking a design background.

By utilizing automated, visual platforms like qbiq, professionals in real estate—from property owners to architects—can easily visualize any space’s potential within minutes, considering both basic and complex requirements. Clients, including established firms like Brookfield Properties, JLL, Skanska, and IWG, benefit from the ability to generate a wide array of architectural results efficiently. These results encompass architectural programs, conceptual designs, high-resolution renderings, CAD/Revit models, and more.

The Future of Architectural Planning with qbiq

qbiq represents a new wave in architectural technology, leveraging generative AI to democratize planning at every level. This approach not only empowers tenants to make informed decisions but also enables real estate professionals to expedite deals, optimize investment returns by reducing vacancies, and enhance architects' planning capabilities.

As the architectural landscape continues to evolve, qbiq sits at the forefront, poised to redefine how space planning is approached in an increasingly complex industry. With operations based in Tel Aviv and additional offices in New York and Miami, the company aims to continue its trajectory of innovation and growth. For more information, visit qbiq.ai.
