thinc Journal: A New Series
thinc Journal, a publication dedicated to showcasing the creative landscape and addressing local challenges, is thrilled to unveil a new series featuring the extraordinary journey of photographer Hisa Nojima. For over two decades, Nojima has made her mark in Bali, Indonesia, blending her skills with her passion for photography and cultural exchange. This series aims to provide insights and inspiration to freelancers across Japan who are navigating their own creative careers.
About Hisa Nojima
Born and raised in Wakayama Prefecture, Japan, Hisa Nojima discovered her love for photography while working part-time in a flower shop. Encouraged to explore her creativity with a camera during slow work hours, she quickly became captivated by the art of photography. This initial spark led her to pursue a career as a photographer.
After completing her education in Kyoto, Nojima embarked on a journey of self-discovery that took her around the world. A desire to improve her English skills sparked her travels to Saipan in 2002, ultimately leading her to Bali, where she decided to settle down and immerse herself in the local culture. In addition to her photography business, Nojima has served as a local coordinator for films and television shows, showcasing her versatility and adaptability in a foreign environment.
