Sharp Enhances Autoinjector and Pen Production Capabilities

Sharp Services is taking significant steps to expand its autoinjector and pen assembly capacities in both the United States and the European Union. This development comes in response to the increasing demand for injectable medications. Moreover, two temperature-controlled storage units for sensitive biotech products have been added, significantly increasing the facility's storage capacity, with occupancy anticipated in late 2026.

Additionally, Sharp is focused on rare disease treatments and orphan drugs, as evidenced by its investment in a dedicated low-speed assembly line in the Bethlehem, Pennsylvania facility. This line will similarly be capable of two device assemblies per minute and is expected to be operational. This facility has also completed expansions to its cold storage, doubling its capacity and establishing an additional packaging suite at the 2-8°C range.

In response to the European market’s requirements, Sharp is also expanding its capabilities in Belgium. New assembly equipment will be introduced, allowing assembly rates to range from two devices per minute to 100 devices per minute. This addition also incorporates functional testing and the establishment of a fully automatic 2-8°C warehouse to ensure that the integrity of the products is maintained during storage.
