The Kumamoto earthquake that struck in Reiwa 8 has left many residents in despair and in need of urgent support. GUNZE Corporation, headquartered in Osaka under the leadership of President Takahiro Oka, has stepped up to assist those affected by this disaster. Responding to requests from various governmental ministries, GUNZE began shipping relief supplies on July 30. On August 3, around 100,000 pieces of male and female underwear were dispatched to Kumamoto Prefecture to help the affected individuals regain some sense of normalcy after this tragic event.

In addition to direct aid, GUNZE is also working through the emergency disaster response alliance known as SEMA. This organization is designed to facilitate the collaboration between private companies and civic organizations during significant natural disasters in Japan, enabling businesses to efficiently deliver goods and services to those in need. GUNZE is committed to supporting the victims of the Kumamoto earthquake by hoping for their safety and a swift recovery. Details of SEMA's Support



The GUNZE Group's contributions through SEMA include vital supplies prepared for those in need:
1. Supplies dispatched:
- 1,850 pieces of men's underwear
- 1,050 pieces of women's underwear
- 850 pieces of children's underwear (for boys and girls)
2. Delivery Locations:
- SEMA Supply Base located in Mashiki Town, Kumamoto Prefecture
- Another base in Takeo City, Saga Prefecture (aimed at assisting Hikawa Town, Kumamoto)
3. Delivery Details:
- The goods were shipped from GUNZE Logistics Co., Ltd. at the Okayama Logistics Center in Okayama Prefecture. They were delivered through the Peace Boat Disaster Relief Center, which is a member of SEMA.
4. Delivery Dates:
- Supplies reached Mashiki Town on August 8 and Takeo City on August 10.
